In the Stream of Consciousness Podcast #3: Stories part 2
Here is the second installment about our personal stories. This is a large topic and we will be revisiting it several times throughout these podcasts. In this installment I talk more about my definition of “story” and personal “stories” and how these definitions become important as we talk about how to free ourselves from beliefs that no longer serve us.

In this podcast I heard a theme of stories of belief systems. GentleBear makes some valid points: Consider the perspective in the stories I weave in my head. Some negative stories need interruption. Ask myself if the story I weave is true. Question the authority of my mind. Consider my focus. Focus on my joy rather than on negative thoughts and action. Be gentle with myself. With our words, we co-create our lives.
GentleBear, I’ve read that there is a survey that shows that pessimists live longer than optimists. Is that true?
Oh, who cares? I prefer to feel joyful and I choose joy.
Thanks for your insightful podcast, GentleBear.
My hubby came in just as I was sending my comment to you, GentleBear. He asked me what I was doing and I told him. I, then, told him to listen to your podcast, which he did. His response was, “That’s pretty good!” He’s not much on specifics.
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for posting. say hi to your hubby. Thank you for listening.
As to your survey, i think it’s been shown that optimists are healthier and happier. I haven’t read that pessimists live longer, I choose to believe having joy in your life is better all around.
Blessings to you and yours
